Painter's Choice
Assigned: 4/8
This painting is to be approached just like the title states....you are allowed to paint in whatever style (realistic/abstract/expressionistic) you decide along with the subject matter.
This can be a portrait (self/or other individual), landscape, or a non-representational piece.
Please have a plan prior to starting...sketches, artist examples/style as form of inspiration.
AVOID CLICHES...you know how I feel about this and just because I'm not in class doesn't mean that I still don't want you to push yourself to be creative. Take this as approaching something that could be seen in everyday life in a more creative avenue.
Try adding text to your art!!
Possibly ask yourself...Do I want my painting to send a message? How will I send this message? What is my message? Is this message more literal or figurative?
Requirements:
- Have a plan!
- Work in Acrylic
- Size? LARGE (use Lily's monochromatic painting as an example and/or your expressionistic portraits located in the display cases in the hallway)
- Paper Choice? You are allowed to paint on paper or tack board used for expressionistic portraits (more t. board can be found in the basement outside the photography room or in the darkroom)
